Dear Parishioners

I thought it might be a good idea to share with you the values we, as your Catholic Parish school are working (alongside our families) to develop in all our children. Our values are rooted in the beatitudes and the Gospel’s and our aim is to live in the light of Christ, and to bring Christ the King to life for others. So using these words as our foundation Christ the King is our Light, here are the values we as a school community aim to live up to:

Compassion: forgiveness and mercy for ourselves and for others

Hope: confidence, open mindedness, faithful anticipation of God’s Kingdom

Respect and responsibility: for diversity, creation, self, others

Integrity: honesty, trustworthiness, reliability

Spirituality: awe, awareness and reflection, wonder

Trust in God: creation, oneself, others and the Church’s teaching

T
ruthfulness: acting and telling the truth

Healing and helpfulness: bringing peace and comfort to the sad, the sick, the lonely and assisting those in need

Enjoyment: joy in our beautiful world, each other and praising God

K
indness: being gentle and caring for others

Individuality: being secure in the ways we are special as God’s images

Neighbourliness: helping and being there when people need us

Generosity: giving without counting the cost

Is

Openness: to strangers, inclusion, open mindedness

Understanding: using good judgement, working out what things mean

Reason: trusting our intelligence, figuring the purpose of a meaningful world

L
ove: putting others first, helping others find what is best for them

Individuality: being secure in our differences as God’s children

Generosity: giving to others, forgiving ourselves

Helpfulness: coming to the assistance of those in need

Togetherness: being part of the class, the school, the parish, the church and family

I would also like to say a big thank you to Father Alex on this his “Leaving” weekend. He has been a great support to Christ the King School and led us in very many Masses, Reconciliation’s, liturgies and Holy Week services. He has always championed our school but also been a constructive critical friend when needed. I hope he has many happy memories of all he has shared with us and that he will have every success and blessing (as well as I imagine a lot of hard work and stress) in his new parish and as Provincial of the Salvatorians. God Luck and God Bless Alex – Christ the King School will miss you very much.
