INTERCESSIONS FOR MAUNDY THURSDAY 12th APRIL

Tonight we celebrate the first Eucharist when Jesus broke bread and shared wine with his disciples.

Let us pray that we may never forget this historic celebration, but also make it alive for us in our sacramental life.

Some of our young people will be confirmed in June, as you see from the messages sent by them at the back of the Church.

Let us pray that their journey, to become full members of the church, will be an enjoyable and successful one.

Many people will be travelling over the Easter Holidays, on the roads, by rail or by air.

Let us pray that we ourselves will have concern for other travellers, and do all we can to avoid accidents. We also pray for the emergency services who undertake such crucial and difficult tasks.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

We remember with thanks our Special Ministers who are commissioned today, and serve our Parish so ably. We are grateful for their dedication and support, especially to those who are housebound.

Let us pray that our Special Ministers may continue to serve our Parish Community with care and devotion.

Tomorrow’s Walk of Witness is one of Thornbury’s many ecumenical events, showing we can work together, as in fact our Mission has shown, with preachers from other churches

Let us pray for church unity, help us to understand and respect other people’s faiths, and to do all we can to bring unity about.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

Let us ask our Blessed Lady to pray for us - Hail Mary

Let us pray for our own intentions in silence.
