INTERCESSIONS SUNDAY 1ST APRIL 2001

In the Gospel Jesus shows how we should not judge other people, when we ourselves are sinners.

Let us pray that we will not condemn other people without very good cause, and try in our lives to condemn the sin but not the sinner.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

In the Second Reading, St. Paul tells the Philippians he is racing for the finish, to be with Jesus, when he has become perfect.

Let us pray that we too, may try to live better lives, following St. Paul’s example.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

Let us pray for peace in Macedonia and wherever there is dissension and bloodshed.

Let us pray that those who try to avenge the past will be able to work for a just and peaceful future.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

The Foot and Mouth Epidemic is devastating farmers, allied industries, and all those concerned with tourism.

Let us pray that those affected can be supported financially and emotionally, and that the disease will be quickly contained, and eradicated for ever.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

Our new Bishop, Declan, was installed in Clifton Cathedral on Wednesday.

Let us pray that we may give him our full support and that he will minister to us with love and understanding.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”.

Let us ask our Blessed Lady, whose Annunciation we celebrated on Monday, to pray for us - Hall Mary

Let us pray for our own needs in silence.
