INTERCESSIONS FOR 4th SUNDAY OF LENT YEAR C

Priest:

God has forgiven us – we rejoice in his love and celebrate our reconciliation.
Let us call on him to aid us in our need.

Reader:

  1. Let us pray for God’s blessing on the leaders of the church.
This week we pray especially for Monsignor Declan Lang
who will be ordained as Bishop of Clifton on Wednesday.
May he be accepted, loved and supported
by all those to whom he ministers.
(PAUSE)                 Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer
  2. We pray for this nation and all nations
experiencing a crisis in their food production industry
    through disease, flood or drought.
May there be a fair distribution of the produce of the land
in times of plenty or of want.
(PAUSE)                 Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer
  3. We pray for the rejected and alienated of our society
that God’s love, working in us,
may find ways of reconciling them and welcoming them back.
(PAUSE)                 Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer
  4. We pray for ourselves that, as God has forgiven us,
we will forgive those who have hurt us,
and seek out the lost and rejoice when they are found.
(PAUSE)                 Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer
  5. Let us pray for those we love who have gone before us in faith,
that they may rest in peace.
May they pray for us who continue on life’s journey.
(PAUSE)                 Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer

Now we ask for the prayers of Our Blessed Lady as we say:     Hail Mary.

In silence we pray for our own needs and intentions.

Priest:

Loving Father, listen to our prayers and grant us what we need.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, who is Lord, forever and ever. Amen.
