INTERCESSIONS FOR 2nd SUNDAY OF LENT YEAR C

Priest:

The Lord is our light and our help –
let us call on him for our needs and the needs of the world.

Reader:

1. Let us pray for the church:
   for all the holy people of God,
   and for those preparing to be received into the church at Easter.
   (Pause) Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer.

2. Let us pray for peace among the nations,
   and for peoples who are displaced from their homes and lands-
   that a place of refuge and belonging will be theirs.
   (Pause) Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer.

3. Let us pray for all in need:
   the poor, the homeless,
   the sick and the housebound, and for all in hospital,
   that they will see the face of the Lord in the kindly acts of those around them.
   (Pause) Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer.

4. Let us pray for ourselves that encouraged by this holy time
   we may put our faith in the Lord
   and lift our minds above earthly things.
   (Pause) Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer.

5. We pray for family and friends who have died.
   May they rest in peace in their homeland in heaven
   and see Jesus in all his glory.
   (Pause) Lord, in your mercy. – Hear our prayer.

We ask for the intercession of Our Blessed Lady as we say
Hail Mary.

Let us pray for a while in silence.

listen to our petitions and answer our prayer of faith.
