INTERCESSIONS FOR SUNDAY 29TH APRIL

In the first Reading Peter and the Apostles tell the High Priest that obedience to God comes before obedience to men.

Let us pray that we wilt be able to remember these words in our daily life and try to live by them, putting God first at alt times.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

In the Gospel we hear how Jesus said to St Peter “Feed my Lambs” encouraging him and his colleagues to spread the word and minister to the people.

Let us pray that in our own way we may “Feed the Lambs” and share the Easter message with everyone we meet.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

Racism is much in the news at present, and while everyone seems to abhor racism the issue is still of concern, and some of the 5% of the British population who are Black or Asian, continue to suffer discrimination from time to time.

Let us pray that no one is treated unfairly because of the colour of their skin or because of their Religion, and that we in Thornbury strive to eliminate Racism whenever or wherever we see it, or hear it.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

We shall have awful problems with our agriculture for many months, and the countryside and its industries and activities will continue to experience difficulties for some time.

Let us pray that these industries and activities will be able to survive and live to see better days, overcoming the recent setbacks and beginning anew.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

In our Parish there are many people who have special needs, people of all ages who often require specialised help.

Let us pray that we do not forget their needs and the needs of those who care for them, and that they will both receive God’s comfort and blessing.

(Pause) “LORD IN YOUR MERCY”

Let us ask Mary, whose special month of May is nearly with us, to pray for us - Hail Mary

Let us pray in silence for ourselves or for other people.
