INTERCESSIONS
FOR SUNDAY 14TH DECEMBER 2003

Priest:

We bring our petitions to you Lord, on the 3rd Sunday of Advent, and pray you will answer our prayers.

Reader:

In the first reading Zephaniah tells us that God will exult with joy for us, and renew us with his love.

Let us pray that we remember God's love for us, and let our joy shine forth in our lives.

Lord in your mercy hear our prayer

St. Paul tells us that we should be tolerant, and let that tolerance be evident to everyone.

Let us pray that we try to avoid judging people and discriminating against people, and remember that we are all children of God.

Lord in your mercy hear our prayer

Let us remember those who are sick in mind, body or spirit.

Let us pray that they may be comforted by those who care for them, and that God's healing grace will help them and make them feel better.

Lord in your mercy hear our prayer

Let us remember the women imprisoned at Eastwood Park at this festive time.

Let us pray that they may be able to sort out their lives, and let us pray that those who are responsible for them may be able to help them.

Lord in your mercy hear our prayer

Our Bishop Declan and all the priests in the Clifton Diocese, especially our own Father Alex and Father Charlie, will be very busy over the next few weeks.

Let us pray that they may keep well and minister to their people with love and compassion.

Lord in your mercy hear our prayer

Let us ask Our Lady to pray for us Hail Mary...

Let us pray in silence for our own intentions.

Priest:

Lord, we pray that you will grant our petitions in the name of Jesus, who brings hope to the world.
