Fifth Sunday of Lent2000 Intercessions
Priest:
We turn to God asking him for all the graces we need to live our life as Christians in the world of today.
Reader:
For the leaders of the Church, through their proclamation of the Gospel may all Christians realise that death to selfishness is a pre-condition of living the life of grace. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray for those who serve us in local and national government that their polices may bring about justice for all and respect the values of Christ. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For those who suffer serious hardships; may they see their difficulties as the grain of wheat dying in order to produce a great harvest. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray that we be good servants of the Lord, looking for ways to be of service in the community and in the church, responding to those in need as the Lord showed in his life and in his death. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray for those who are sick especially Mark Chaplin, Tony Grove and Martin Scott; may they experience the power of Christs healing love. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray for those who have died; may they experience the fullness of eternal life with God and his saints. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We ask Our Blessed Lady to join her prayers with ours as we say Hail Mary
Let us pray for a few moments in the silence of our hearts
Priest:
God our Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers because we make them in faith and in the name of Jesus your Son, who lives and reigns
