Intercessions for Sunday 29th
December
Priest :
We
bring our petitions to you Lord, on the Feast of the Holy Family, and ask you
to answer our prayers.
Reader :
As
we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family, let us give thanks for the joy a
family can give, but not forget the agony of broken relationships.
Let us pray that we may try to be more tolerant and
considerate with others, and do all we can to help those who suffer.
Lord in you Mercy .................
In
the Second Reading St Paul tells the Collossians to bear with one another and
forgive each other as the Lord forgives us.
Let us pray that we will forgiving and as St Paul says
"let the message of Christ, in all its richness, find a home in our
hearts."

Lord in your Mercy...................
The
news about Iraq seem to bring the world ever closer to war.
Let us pray for a peaceful end to the conflict,
and for a New Year when peace comes to Israel, to
Palestine, and to Northern Ireland.
Lord in your Mercy .......................
Let
us remember those who are sick in spirit, mind or body, whether at home or in
hospital.
Let us pray that that they may be comforted by those who care
for them, and that they do not suffer alone,
and that God's love will nourish and heal them.
Lord in your Mercy..................
Let
us pray for the Pope, and all Christian Leaders, and for Leaders of other
Religions.
Let us pray that they may excercise their leadersip with
care and tolerance, and above all work for peace
and to help those people who suffer from famine and
malnutrition.
Lord in your Mercy
Let
us ask Our Lady to pray for us, Hail Mary..............
Let
us ask God for our own intentions in silence.
Priest : Lord, we pray that you will grant our prayers in the name of Jesus,
who brings hope to the world.
