Intercessions for 6th Sunday of Easter (Year B)
Priest:
Each week after Easter we have followed in the Acts of the Apostles significant developments in the Early Church. Today is no exception. Let us pray in love for Our Lord.
Reader:
“You did not choose me, no, I chose you.” We pray for all who are striving to follow God’s command, especially John Paul, our Pope, Declan, our Bishop, and priests and religious everywhere.
Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.
“God has no favourites; the Lord’s plan for salvation is for all people”. We pray for all who put their hope and faith in Him.
Lord in your mercy Hear Our Prayer
“Love comes from God, because God is love”. We pray for those in most need of love, especially those in troubled parts of our world.
Lord in your mercy Hear Our Prayer
“Anyone who fails to love can never have known God”. We pray for those who do not know God, and for those who fall victim to evil and injustice.
Lord in your mercy Hear Our Prayer
“No nation or people can claim God as their own”. We pray for the gift of tolerance, accepting others as they are, without prejudice or envy.
Lord in your mercy Hear Our Prayer
Finally, we pray for all our young adults who are taking exams in our colleges and schools. May God bless them at this stressful time.
Lord in your mercy Hear Our Prayer
Our month of May draws to a close, but our love for the Queen of the May continues. Let us ask Mary, Our Mother, to intercede for us as we say…. Hail Mary
We now pray silently for our own intentions.
Priest:
God of Love, you command us to love one another. Help us to increase in our Faith and grow in our love for one another. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
