INTERCESSIONS

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER (YEAR B)

Priest:

“Jesus is the true vine and we are the branches”: strengthened by God’s word we turn to him with prayers for our needs and the needs of the world.

Reader:

We pray for all priests and nuns, may they help us to follow Jesus and love God and our neighbour. (Pause) Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for people in countries at war, and we ask God to bless those working for peace and giving out food and medicines. (Pause) Lord hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for our families and all who care for us -show us how we can help others and take pride in our work. (Pause) Lord hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for our friends, help us to enjoy being with our friends and to have good times together. (Pause) Lord hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all Faith and Light groups -may they continue to be a support and encouragement to families with special needs. (Pause) Lord hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

We pray for our First Communion children as they prepare for their special day on Saturday -may the Lord bless them and their families. (Pause) Lord hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

We ask Our Blessed Lady to support us with her prayers as we say Hail Mary.

Now we make our own prayers in silence.

Priest:

Loving Father, hear our prayers and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen
