Intercessions for 4th Sunday of Easter (Year B)

Priest:

“I am the Good Shepherd,” says the Lord. Strengthened by God’s word and promises we now offer our prayers to him for ourselves and for the needs of our world.

Reader:

“I know my own and my own know me”. Today is the World Day of Prayer for vocations. We pray for all priests, deacons and religious everywhere, and for all those who may be considering a similar call.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.

“There are other sheep that are not of this fold”. We pray for all who follow the Good Shepherd and those who are yet to find Him.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the corner stone”. We pray for the wisdom not to judge others unwisely. May we look for the good that can be found in all God’s people.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.

“It was by the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene”. At the Passover, Peter denied Christ three times, today he confidently proclaims His name. We pray that we, like St. Peter, may learn from the countless mistakes that we make in our daily lives.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.

“What we are to be in the future has not yet been revealed”. We pray for those who have died and have gone to God before us, especially those whose anniversaries occur at this time.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer.

As we continue this month of May, dedicated to Our Lady, we ask her to pray for us as we say ……….  Hail Mary

We now pray silently for our own private intentions.

Priest:

Lord God, we ask you to listen graciously to the prayers that your people make this day, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
