Intercessions

Third Sunday of Easter

Priest:

As we continue to celebrate Easter let us ask God to listen to our prayers

Reader:

In the Gospel we hear Jesus say to His disciples "Peace be with you". Let us pray that we may be at peace with other people, and in our families and with our neighbours. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

In the first reading the people are told they must repent and turn to God. Let us pray that when we do wrong that we try to make amends and ask for God's help. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

In the Second Reading St John tells us that if we obey what God has said, then God's love will come to perfection in us Let us pray that we try to keep His commandments. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us remember those who are sick, in body, mind or spirit, and those who care for them. Let us pray that your grace and blessing will heal and comfort them. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Young people will face many challenges this Spring and Summer, exams, choices, relationships, the future. Let us pray for them, that they are able to do their best, and to choose wisely and well and that we may support them all we can. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us ask Mary to pray for us, Hail Mary...

Now let us pray silently for our own needs.

Priest:

We ask you Lord, to listen to our prayers and help us.
