Third Sunday of Easter                                                                                                                      Intercessions

 

We pray for the deepening of the spirit of forgiveness among us: that all Christians may be so convinced of the forgiveness they experience from God that it may bear fruit in lives of charity and peace. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray that we may grow ever more attentive to the Word of God proclaimed to us through the Holy Scriptues. May we recgnise his presence among us and his will as the guiding force of our lives. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the spreading of the Good News throughout the world: that all may come to know Jesus as their Lord and God. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the families of our parish: that they may live together in peace and love. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the healing of those who are sick in mind and body: may they experince the power of the resurrection in their lives. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for those who have died recently particularly Bart Connolly and Mary Naughton. May their faith in the resurrection lead them into eternal life. (pause) Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask Mary our Mother to join her prayers with ours as we say Hail Mary…

We now pray for a few moments in the silence of our hearts…

God our Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers because we make them in faith and in the name of your Son, Jesus, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
