Intercessions for Sunday 15th
December
Priest :
We bring our petitions to you Lord, on the third Sunday of Advent, and ask you to answer our prayers.
Reader :
In the first Reading Isaiah says the Lord
has sent him to bind up hearts that are broken.
Let us pray that
we may try to help those who suffer and bring them the Good News of Jesus' coming.
Lord
in you Mercy .................
In the Second Reading St Paul tells the
Thessalonians to hold on to what is good and avoid every form of evil.
Let us pray that we may know what are
the right things to do and what we should try to avoid.
Lord
in your Mercy...................
We await anxiously the result of weapons'
inspections and UN Resolutions about Iraq.
Let us pray for peace in the Middle East, in
Israel and Palestine, as well as in Iraq.
Lord
in your Mercy .......................
Let us remember those who are sick in
spirit, mind or body.
Let us pray that
that they may be comforted by those who care for them, and that they do not suffer
alone,
and that God's love will
nourish and heal them.
Lord
in your Mercy..................
Our Parish includes the Prison at Eastwood
Park.
Let us pray for those women imprisoned there
that they may be comforted and redeemed.
Lord in your Mercy
Let us ask Our Lady to pray for us, Hail
Mary...
Let us ask God for our own intentions in
silence.
Priest : Lord, we pray that you will grant our
prayers in the name of Jesus, who brings hope to the world.
