Intercessions for the 2nd Sunday in Advent, Year B
4th December 2005
Priest:
We turn to God, in prayer, and ask Him for all of our needs.
Reader:
Father, as we wait and prepare for the coming of your Son, we pray for vocations to the priesthood and to the missions so that there are always messengers of the Good News. (pause) Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Father, for our children, in your loving kindness give them the gift of faith. (pause) Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Father, for children who struggle with sickness, hunger, hard work and sorrow, increase our kindness and generosity to all who need our help. (pause) Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Father, for the homeless whether through earthquake, flood, industrial pollution or war, increase the kindness and generosity of governments in responding to their needs. (pause) Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Father, for the lonely, the old, the sick and the dying give them the loving kindness of someone to comfort them. (pause) Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
May Our Lady intercede for us as we prepare for the coming of her Son, Hail Mary…
Let us bring our own needs to God in silence.
Priest:
Father, hear and answer these prayers which we make in faith through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
