INTERCESSIONS
FOR 5th SUNDAY OF EASTER, YEAR A
Priest:
Let us turn to our Risen
Christ, and ask him to hear our prayers.
Reader:
In the Second Reading, St
Peter tells us
we are called out of darkness into God’s wonderful light.
Let us pray that we may encourage that light to grow within us, and let it
shine.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells
his disciples to trust in God.
Let us pray that we are able to trust in God, and to do his will.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
Most of us enjoy a good
standard of living
while others are under-nourished or starving.
Let us pray that we may do all we can to improve the situation.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
Relationships with friends
and in families
can bring us joy and also sadness.
Let us pray that we may be able to overcome any problems
through patience, love, kindness and prayer.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
On Saturday 4th
May we remember the English Martyrs .
Let us pray that we are strong enough to stand up for our Faith.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
As we approach the month of
May, Our Lady’s month,
let us ask her to pray for us. - Hail
Mary.
