INTERCESSIONS FOR 3rd SUNDAY OF EASTER YEAR A

Priest:

Let us turn to our Risen Christ and ask Him to hear our prayers.

Reader:

In the First Reading, Peter tells the crowd what David said of God: ”He will fill us with gladness through his presence”.
Let us pray that we will be filled with gladness this Eastertide.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

The Second Reading reminds us of the resurrection
which gives us faith and hope in God.
Let us pray that our faith and hope
survive any wounds and difficulties we encounter,
and that we survive enriched by God’s love.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

As we say the Rite of Peace,
we are reminded that Jesus gave us his peace.
Let us pray that all people may hear his words
and that we may have peace,
especially in the Middle East.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Schools will re-open this week,
with exams and assessments to come.
Let us pray that children and young people
will have a successful summer term.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Let us pray for all who are sick,
whether in spirit, mind or body.
Grant them comfort, Lord, and your healing touch.
(Pause) Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Let us ask Mary to pray for us. - Hail Mary.

Let us pray silently for our own needs.

Priest:

Father, we make our petitions, confident that our prayers will be heard and answered. Amen.
