Intercessions
Third Sunday of Advent 2004

Priest :

As we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Advent let us ask God to grant our petitions.

Reader:

Isaiah tells us in the First Reading not to have faint hearts but to have Courage!

Let us pray that we have the strength to overcome our difficulties and problems, and have faith that God will help us.

In the Second Reading, James tells the Early Church to be patient.

Let us pray that we will be able to exercise more self-control and try to be less anxious and MORE trusting.

Let us remember Pope John Paul, all priests and nuns, especially Father Alex, Father Charles and Sister Josephine.

Let us pray that they may continually rejoice in God's Love and serve their people wisely and well.

Let us remember those who are imprisoned at Eastwood Park.

Let us pray that the love of Christ will grow in their hearts and that they may be able to sort out their lives.

Let us also remember those who work with them at Eastwood Park, Father Alex and his team, and the prison staff.

Let us pray that they do not lose heart and do what they can to bring comfort and healing to the prisoners.

Let us ask Mary to pray for us: Hail Mary

Let us pray for our own intentions in silence.

Priest :

Lord, we ask you to grant our prayers in the name of Jesus.
